The cuvée Pertois-Lebrun n°14 Grand Cru from the “Les Fidèles” Collection comes from Chardonnays from the plot located in the eponymous locality “Derrière le Mont Aigu”. Planted in 1955 by Paul Pertois the grandfather of Antoine and Clément, it is located on the Terroir of Chouilly, a Grand Cru classified village of the prestigious Côte de Blancs.
Description
The Chardonnays that make up this cuvée are vinified and aged in concrete vats (67%) and oak barrels (33%). The bottles then benefit from a 6-year aging on the lees.
This Derrière le Mont Aigu n°14 plot cuvée was bottled in 2015 in just 2,075 copies, without the addition of sulfites or dosage liqueur. This champagne Blanc de Blancs Pertois-Lebrun n°14 is once again the authentic expression of the terroir, the wine and nature.
This Grand Cru Champagne offers chalky notes, followed by notes of biscuit, white flowers and lemon. The attack on the palate is lively, with a nice mineral tension. In the mid-palate, lovely citrus notes are revealed. The finish is long, on iodized notes for a few beautiful seconds.
