It’s the absolute reference here and the Lapierre have been working it for three generations on their family farm located in Villié-Morgon where 16 hectares are cultivated. The Gamay, one emblematic grape variety, is embodied here in its most beautiful form in Morgon appellation. In the early 50’s, Camille Lapierre decided to sell the own production of the Domaine on which his father was then established as a maître de chai. The success is clear to see : new parcels are then acquired and the adoption of innovative processes will allow the Domaine to build up its reputation.

A family business and a tradition that still continues

Marcel Lapierre got back to mild culturing in the 80’s and used the services of Jules Chauvet, the pope of natural wine. His non-intrusive vinifications led him to earn the title of “biodynamics pioneer”. After he died, this tradition has been continuing with his son Mathieu, who was a chef before, now responsible for the production : « Cooking was my way to achieve it. I’m fostering a zero-add production, with respect to the terroir. Beaujolais isn’t a curse word anymore, it’s a great point of pride for us. » - in fact, quite the opposite : the Morgon from Domaine Lapierre are true gems of epicurism. Many chefs in the world took a risk that was worth it by proposing these crus at their tables. Today, they are still convinced of its uniqueness.
