List of products of Nicolas Joly

Exclusive property of the Joly family, the vineyard of the Coulee de Serrant is a controlled appellation of 7 hectares only. The vineyard was planted in 1130 by Cistercian monks and today consists of between 35 and 80 years old vines. The former small monastery still exists and a few hundred meters away was built the castle of the Roche aux Moines dismantled during the religious wars.

Still considered a rare and unique product the Coulee de Serrant wine was celebrated by Louis XI and Louis XIV as one of the best French white wines. The vineyard is cultivated in part by hand and the horse because of the steepness of its slopes overlooking the Loire. Since 1984, the entire area is cultivated by the methods of biodynamic agriculture. Three wines are produced in small quantities using the principles of biodynamic agriculture : Coulee de Serrant, Clos de la Bergerie and Les Vieux Clos.
