144.00 €
This rum L’Esprit Clarendon 2013 is a new selection from Tristan Prodhomme, Le Caviste Spécialiste Whisky & Rhum, also an independent French bottler.
Description
This molasses rum was distilled in 2013 by the iconic Clarendon Distillery, located in the town of St. Catherine, in the south of Jamaica. The label "Single Estate Jamaican Rum" means that all the manufacturing steps take place on site.
After aging for 9 years, this L'Esprit Clarendon 2013 rum was bottled in 2022 at 67.3° cask strength, that is to say without reduction, coloring or chill filtration. Like all the rums in the Collection L'Esprit, this rum comes from a single cask (# BB 434512) and was produced only in a very limited series of 254 numbered copies.
On the tasting side, this Jamaican rum offers a beautiful richness and exoticism with a juicy fruitiness of ripe citrus fruits, with lime in the lead, accompanied by the freshness of star anise and the roundness of café crème, all on a smoky base. Then we discover the flavors of ripe banana, almond, vanilla and brown tobacco. On the palate, the notes of dried fruits, grapes, prunes and dates develop to give way in the end to more woody, spicy, roasted, grilled and burnt caramel notes.
The independent bottling of the Collection L’Esprit demonstrates the desire to introduce "The original spirit of rum". And here you will discover a new little gem straight from Jamaica…
