The 2019 Trezellières cuvée from Domaine des Closiers is a Cabernet franc coming from the eponymous plot of old vines located on the clay-limestone hillsides of Parnay, in the heart of the Saumur Champigny appellation.
Description
The tuffeau soil (porous rock) gives the wine all its richness and finesse. The grapes are harvested by hand then destemmed and sorted. It then undergoes a pre-fermentation cold maceration before the start of fermentation. The total maceration time is approximately 1 month in stainless steel vats.
The wine is then aged for 24 months in Bordeaux barrels. The micro oxygenation that takes place during this aging allows the Cabernet Franc to refine while asserting its character.
This Trezellières Saumur Champigny 2019 cuvée is also available in Magnum 1.5 L and in 75 cl bottle.
