Description
Produced by the Trinidad Distillers Limited distillery in Trinidad and Tobago, this molasses rum was distilled in 1991 in a quintuple column still. It then aged for 31 years in American bourbon barrels, including 24 years in a tropical climate and 7 years in a continental climate.
This exceptional cuvée was bottled in 2022 cask strength, without any addititive, at its natural degree of 64.5°.
This exceptional Ricci Family rum – TDL 1991 offers a fruity nose of slightly candied peach and apricot and ripe melon with a touch of barbecue sauce after aeration. On the palate, richness and delicacy take over with a touch of acidity that balances the tasting. Melon rubs mixe with notes of hazelnut spread then a drier profile emerges. The finish is on spicier notes of nutmeg and timut pepper.
