Mars Whisky includes two distilleries, Shinshu and Tsunuki, owned by the Hombo Shuzo Group, makers of traditional Japanese wines and spirits.

The Shinshu Distillery is Mars Whiskey's historic distillery, located at the bottom of Komagatake Mountain, in the heart of the Japanese Alps. It went through difficult times between 1992 and 2001 with relocations, mothballing, closure and then a revival in 2011.

This whiskey Komagatake Shinshu Aging was distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2022 only 190 copies at 62°, an unusual degree for this Japanese distillery . It has aged for seven years, exclusively in a first-fill ex-bourbon cask.

This Komagatake 2016 Shinshu Aging Japanese whiskey is a rare and exceptional piece that will appeal to all lovers of lightly peated whiskies.
