The whiskey Mars Komagatake 60 years old LMDW Single Malt is a special edition to celebrate the 60 years of La Maison Du Whisky, produced by the historic distillery of Mars Whisky , the Shinshu Distillery.
Description
Mars Whisky comprises two distilleries, Shinshu and Tsunuki, owned by the Hombo Shuzo Group, makers of traditional Japanese wines and spirits.
The Shinshu distillery, located at the bottom of Komagatake mountain, in the heart of the Japanese Alps, went through difficult times between 1992 and 2001. Indeed, after relocations, a sleep and closure, it was reborn in 2011, with the revival of whiskey production.
This Mars Komagatake 60 years old LMDW whiskey is a Japanese Single Malt distilled in 2012, aged in American white oak barrels (Cask 1555) and bottled in 2016 in only 602 copies.
This is therefore a four-year-old whisky, which despite its youth is full of promise for collectors and lovers of lightly peated whiskeys.
